Oil on canvas · 90 × 50 cm · 2024
I noticed that this painting was never the brightest object in the studio. Yet it was often the one my eyes returned to without thinking.
It changes quietly with the light, revealing warmer or cooler tones depending on the time of day. Living beside it, I realised it wasn't asking to be noticed. It was simply making the space feel calmer.
I think the paintings we keep for years are often like that.
